Question Is it possible to make money reselling

Ok! need to know.

Is it possible to make money reselling? How is a reseller to compete with the hosting company. Most of the reseller hosts I have looked at also offer normal hosting plans at very cheap prices, so if I started to resell they would also be my competition.

I've found that the most successful resellers, among our clients, are those that link up with a web designer (or are one themselves) and target their community. Of course, you must shop carefully for a host. You will never make money if you spend all of your time maintaining sites or explaining downtime. Make sure that they own their data center. Good luck!

Each customer earns you around $6/month revenue, out of which you must take costs, wages and tax.

You need a lot of customers to make a reasonable profit.

Try freelance sales. You can sell hosting and web design services for other companies on a commission basis.

I don't know, one of our resellers had 70 sign-ups in the last month from www.findmyhosting.com. Rare, yes, but it can be done.

There are millions of sites being put up all the time, and they all need hosting of some sorts. If you look at any hosting company, most of them have at least 100 clients. Even hosting companies that provide reseller packages have around 50 clients, at the least. Becoming a reseller means you are becoming a host, just like these other companies. You have the ability to target your community and pick up 100 clients in your area. If you charge 5 dollars for the most common package, you will be making $500 a month. Meanwhile you are paying up to about $50 for that space each month, bringing in a profit of $450.

If you're good at selling, marketing, etc, you have the ability to make a lot of extra income, as well as possibly even purchasing your own server in the future.

I hope this helps you see the possibilites of reselling.

Hi,

I have some Questions about the Pro Reseller Plan from Hostingos.

Can I use my own name servers?

Will Hostinggos be “invisible to my customers”?

How much disk space is allowed?

What is meant by “Unlimited monthly transfer”? (This is really unusual for a reseller plan.) What is the practical bandwidth limit per month, so I won’t over sell the plan and end up with slow websites and unhappy customers.

I take it this is Linux, which version?

Which version of cPanel do my users get cPanel and I get cPanel WHM?

What kind of uptime do you have?

Where are the servers? Turkey? US? East coast, west cost central?

What kind of support do you have?

I’m serious about reseller plans and/or dedicated servers so complete and through answers and any other information you can give me would be a great help.

You don’t give much on the website.

Thank You

What proportion of resellers do you think start of as a reseller, then become a standalone host?

Are there many resellers who are happy just to stick with being a reseller?

Regards,
Jim Smith
